Biography

The SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, founded in 1946 as Südfunk-Chor Stuttgart in Stuttgart, Germany, was established to provide studio vocal work for Süddeutscher Rundfunk before its 1998 merger into Südwestrundfunk. Under conductors Marinus Voorberg, Klaus Martin Ziegler, Rupert Huber, Marcus Creed, and Yuval Weinberg, the ensemble released recordings such as Faszination Musik (2001), Strauss Nono Wagner (2006), and Silence and Music (2009). The ensemble also notably earned Echo Klassik awards in 2011 and 2012.
