Biography

Marcelo Jeneci (April 7, 1982) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and accordionist from São Paulo. He received his first music lessons from his father, who worked repairing musical instruments and electronic equipment. After kicking off his career in the early aughts as an accordionist for MPB legends Chico César, Arnaldo Antunes, and Erasmo Carlos, Marcelo Jeneci made his official debut with the 2008 single “Amado.” A collaboration with singer Vanessa da Mata, the track was featured on the soundtrack of the soap opera A Favorita. Feito pra Acabar (2010), his studio debut, was released in 2010 to great critical and commercial success. More success followed in 2013 with De Graça, which earned him a nomination for the 2014 Latin Grammys in the category of Best MPB Album. That same year, he received the APCA Awards for Best Composer. In 2015, Marcelo Jeneci embarked on a tour throughout Brazil with singer Tulipa Ruiz, with whom he recorded the fan favorite “Dia a Dia, Lado a Lado.” Guaia, his highly anticipated third full-length, saw the light in 2019.
