Swedish pop singer MÃ¥ns Zelmerlöw was born in Lund, Scania, on June 13, 1986. Zelmerlöw became a household name in 2005, when he competed in the Swedish TV show Idols 2005 and finished fifth. Less than a year later, he won the first season of another reality-competition TV show, Let's Dance, and began recording Stand by Forâ¦, his debut album. Propelled by the Number 1 single "Cara Mia," Stand by For⦠debuted at the top of the Swedish charts and quickly went gold. MZW, his second album, also peaked at Number 1 in 2009. Although Zelmerlöw maintained a strong presence on Swedish television by hosting the show AllsÃ¥ng pÃ¥ Skansen from 2011 to 2013, his third album, Barcelona Sessions, failed to produce any hit singles. Things changed considerably in 2015, when "Heroes" â the multi-platinum lead single from his sixth album, Perfectly Damaged â won the Eurovision Song Contest. Zelmerlöw hosted the contest one year later and earned another platinum certification with "Fire in the Rain," a song from his 2016 album Chameleon. Time, his eighth LP, followed in October 2019.
