Biography

A regular contestant at Sweden’s Melodifestivalen, Linda Bengtzing (born on March 13, 1974) started her career as a child pop singer in the late 80s with the singles “Sommar på Gång” and “Låt Kärleken Leva.” After that, she moved to Stockholm and worked a series of odd jobs before reappearing in 2004 for the fourth season of reality TV music competition show Fame Factory. Though she did not make it to the final, her single “Alla Flickor” was selected to participate in the Melodifestivalen 2005. Despite finishing last in the contest’s grand finale, the track peaked at Number 8 on the Swedish charts. History repeated itself in 2006 with the single “Jag ljuger så Bra,” which failed to win the popular vote but climbed to Number 2 on the Sverigetopplistan. More success ensued with Ingenting att Förlora (2006), her official studio debut, which peaked at Number 4 on the Swedish charts and gathered the singer’s previously released singles. In 2007, she achieved her first Number 1 hit with “Värsta Schlagern,” a collaboration with rapper Markoolio that was later included in her gold-winning sophomore effort, Vild & Galen (2008). In subsequent years, Bengtzing entered Melodifestivalen five more times but failed to reach the much-desired chance to represent Sweden at the legendary Eurovision Song Contest.
