Malibu is a Rio de Janeiroâbased recording studio and creative label led by owner-producer Kevin White that emerged in 2018 as a hub for cross-genre collaborations in Brazil. Building early momentum around work with veteran guitarist Pepeu Gomes, the imprint handled the release of his album Eterno Retorno in 2018 and later co-credited the single âPalhaço Pierrotâ as Pepeu Gomes & Malibu in 2025, underscoring the studioâs role as both label and creative partner. Malibuâs own artist identity moved to the fore in 2022 with âPenelope,â a sleek pop collaboration credited to BIN, Vitão & Malibu, which seeded a broader run of studio-curated pairings. The same year, the team brokered the funk-meets-pagode single âNão Demoraâ between MC Cabelinho and Sorriso Maroto, released with Malibu Studios credited on DSPs and supported by an official video. After continuing to expand its catalog, Malibu entered 2024 with the single âMinha Vizinha,â then accelerated in 2025 with a slate of releasesââBonjourâ (with Lourena and Rod Melim), âBlack,â and âVivendo,â plus the Maia duet âO Que Vai Ser de Nós?ââthat framed the studio as a recurrent co-artist across Brazilian pop and urban music. The year also saw Malibu shepherd the childrenâs project Aventuras de Caramelo by Antonio Caramelo, further showing its range beyond club music. That breadth culminated in the high-profile multi-artist single âEu Vou na Sua Casaâ with Felipe Amorim, Vitão and BINârolled out in June 2025 on DSPs and included on Amorimâs RomantiDog (Deluxe)âwhich introduced Malibu to a national mainstream audience.
