Biography

Magnum Band, a Konpa musical group from Haiti, was founded in 1976 in Miami by André Dadou Pasquet and his brother Claude Tico Pasquet. The band gained international recognition by performing at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and representing Haiti at the first festival of créole music in Dominica in 1997. Their extensive tours across Guadeloupe, France, Canada, and the United States further solidified their reputation for professionalism and promotion of Haitian Konpa music. Notable albums include 25eme anniversaire (2001), Oulala! (2003), and 30 ans - La Seule Différence (2007). The band is known for its "old school" style within the Konpa genre, featuring key members such as André Pasquet on guitar and vocals, and Claude Pasquet on drums.
