Magna Carta, a British folk-rock band, was formed in London in April 1969. Their debut album Magna Carta was released by Mercury Records that year, produced by Gus Dudgeon and arranged by Tony Visconti. The band signed with Vertigo Records and achieved international success with their 1970 album Seasons, which reached number 55 on the UK Albums Chart. Notable releases include Songs From Wasties Orchard (1971) and Lord of the Ages (1973). Magna Carta performed at venues like the Royal Albert Hall in 1971 and toured extensively. In 2009, after a farewell tour of the Netherlands, the band announced their disbandment, but continued to perform, including a memorable concert in December 2019 at Ripley Town Hall, North Yorkshire.
