Biography

Lynden David Hall, born on May 7, 1974, in Wandsworth, South London, England, was a singer known for his contributions to contemporary R&B and soul music. He began his career by winning the Best Newcomer accolade at the 1998 MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards. His breakthrough came with his debut album Medicine 4 My Pain, released in 1997, which featured the hit singles "Do I Qualify" and "Sexy Cinderella". In 1999, he became the first UK performer to be voted Best Male Artist by the readers of Britain's Blues & Soul magazine. He also appeared in the film Love Actually in 2003 as the lead singer of a band that performed "All You Need Is Love" at a wedding scene. In October 2003, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Despite his health challenges, he released another album: In Between Jobs in 2005. Lynden David Hall passed away on February 14, 2006, at the age of 31, from complications resulting from a stem cell transplant.
