Biography
Lydie Auvray, born in February 1956 in Langrune-sur-Mer, France, is a singer and accordionist. She began playing the accordion at age ten and moved to Berlin in 1974. Auvray's early career included performances with Jürgen Slopianka and collaborations with Thommie Bayer, Klaus Hoffmann, and Hannes Wader. Her first solo LP, Premiere, was released in 1981, after which she formed her own band, the Auvrettes. She continued to tour and release albums, including Paradiso, Ensemble, D'accord, and Octavons. Notable collaborations include work with Stephan Remmler, Peter Maffay, Senta Berger, and Reinhard Mey. She has also contributed to film soundtracks, including Anna's Song for Ingrid Fischer's documentary in 1984 and Mannsbilder in 1990. She received the Ravensburg Copper Medal in 1990.
