Biography

Louise Attaque are the holders of a rare record for a French rock band, then unknown: to have sold almost three million copies of their homonymous debut album, released in 1997 and ranked No. 1 against all odds. Formed three years earlier by Gaëtan Roussel (vocals, guitar), Arnaud Samuel (violin, guitar, piano), Robin Feix (bass) and Alexandre Margraff (drums), the folk-rock quartet survived this initial success with a second album, Comme On A Dit (also No. 1 in 2000), before splitting into two groups: Tarmac and Ali Dragon. In 2005, Louise Attaque celebrated their reunion with the release of À Plus Tard Crocodile (No. 2) and a major tour that took the band from Asia to South America. After another ten-year hiatus, during which Gaëtan Roussel produced two albums, the band reformed in 2015 and recorded the album Anomalie (No. 3) with drummer Nicolas Musset, released the following year, which won a third Victoire de la musique award. It would then be six years before the band returned to meet their fans with the album Planète Terre (2022), which reached No. 5 in France. The original trio continues to tour French-speaking countries, and this is recorded on the group's first live album, Amours (2024), a recording of a concert given in 2023 at the Accor Arena in Paris.
