Louis Prima Jr., born Louis on June 16, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America, is an American jazz singer. He is the youngest child of musician and entertainer Louis Prima. At age five, he began learning drums from his mother Gia Maione. He grew up on the outskirts of Las Vegas on his father's golf course and spent summers in Toms River, New Jersey. After graduating high school, he briefly pursued a business career but soon returned to music with the band Problem Child, which became popular in Las Vegas and Hollywood. In 1995, Problem Child disbanded, and Prima shifted his focus to his father's musical style, forming a new band with his sister Lena Prima and his father's keyboard player Bruce Zarka. For several years, he juggled a full-time job, part-time music, and raising his children. In 2010, at age 44, he quit his day job to pursue a full-time music career. On July 25, 2010, shortly after performing at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Prima, Sarah Spiegel, and the Witnesses were present when his father's posthumous star was put on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Louis Prima Jr. and the Witnesses released their debut album Return of the Wildest in 2012, followed by Blow in 2014.
