Biography

Louis Arnold Jacoby, born on September 6, 1952 in Larvik, Norway, is a Norwegian singer. He grew up in the Torstrand district of Larvik. Jacoby's breakthrough came with his song "Hverdag" (Everyday), which became one of Norway's national songs. In 1995, he won the summer song competition held by the Nitimen program with "En sommer er aldri over" ("A Summer Is Never Over") alongside Lars Martin Myhre. Jacoby released several albums including Hverdag in 1996 and Puslespill in 2008, and his album Noen & ingen was on the musical hit list Norsktoppen for ten weeks in 2003, including two weeks at Number 1. Jacoby won the Prøysen Award and the Herman Wildenvey Poetry Award, and was named "Beer Dog of the Year" by the Norwegian Brewery Association in 1990.
