Los Dareyes de la Sierra is a Regional Mexican group originally formed in 1997 in Navojoa, Sonora, by musicians who first called themselves Los Llegadores de Sonora. Facing initial financial challenges and subsequent legal issues over their band name, they transitioned through âLos Alteños de la Sierraâ before settling on âLos Dareyes de la Sierra,â a title that quickly gained recognition in both Mexico and the United States. Their original lineup featured José Darey Castro (lead vocals and accordion), José Miguel EnrÃquez (second vocals and bass), and Alberto Verdugo Leyva (guitar). Renowned for their distinctive sierreño-norteño sound, Los Dareyes de la Sierra built a loyal following with albums such as El Ãguila Real (2005), Cigarro de Hoja (2005), Directo (2006), En la Mira (2007), and La Dueña de Mi Vida (2009). Their catalog includes standout hits like âCorrido del Chapo,â âLos Cuatro Grandes,â âMuñeca Ojos de Miel,â âDueña de mi Vida,â âEl Tamarindo,â âDe Pies a Cabeza,â âChiquito Pero Picoso,â âQuisiera Ser Una Lágrima,â âTu Perfume,â âEl Ãguila Real,â and âEl JabalÃ.â Despite adversityâincluding the tragic loss of several members in a violent incident in Chihuahuaâthe band, under Darey Castroâs leadership, continued to tour and produce music, incorporating both traditional corridos and controversial narcocorridos that reflect real-life stories from their region. Their 2024 collaboration with Luis R. Conriquez and influencer Yeri Mua on the track "Ducati" showcased their versatility and willingness to explore new musical territories. Los Dareyes de la Sierra deepened their Double P Records phase in 2025 with Redención, a collaborative album featuring Peso Pluma, Tito Double P, Neton Vega, Gabito Ballesteros, Luis R Conriquez, Grupo Firme, Santa Fe Klan, LEGADO 7, Alfredo Olivas, and Edgardo Nuñez, among others. The project was followed by Redención (Deluxe), which added tracks including âFrecuencia,â while âVita Ferâ with Tito Double P and âSupremeâ with Peso Pluma reinforced the groupâs move toward corridos tumbados. That same year, Los Dareyes de la Sierra announced the Redención Tour, their first U.S. tour, and released further collaborations such as âMe Amolaâ with Oscar Maydon and âAGÃITADOâ with Chino Pacas. In 2026, they returned with âTETRICO,â âMATCHA,â and the album SABIA.
