Biography

Los Destellos, a Peruvian cumbia band, formed in 1966 in Lima's Rímac district. Their debut album, Los Destellos (1968), was highly successful. The band achieved significant success with hits like "Elsa" and "Muchachita celosa". In the 1970s, they produced notable songs such as "Quinceañera" and "La pastorcita". Edith Delgado Montes reactivated them in 1984 with a new lineup. They released over 190 productions, including albums like Para todo el mundo (1980) and Súper renovados (2007). They were recognized as "Embajadores Culturales de la Cumbia Peruana" and received numerous awards, including the Premio Internacional a la Excelencia. Other notable albums include En Órbita (1969) and Solo ellos (1969).
