Lorraine Feather, born Billie Jane Lee Lorraine Feather on September 10, 1948, in Manhattan, New York, is an American singer and songwriter. Daughter of jazz author Leonard Feather, she began her singing career in the late 1960s in New York, appearing in Jesus Christ Superstar and working as a background singer. Feather's first recordings were released in 1978 with pianist Joanne Grauer. She joined the vocal ensemble Full Swing and was recommended to Concord Jazz by Jake Hanna, leading to her debut album Sweet Lorraine (1979). In the 2000s, she released albums like Such Sweet Thunder: Music of the Duke Ellington Orchestra (2003) and Ages (2010), which was nominated for a Grammy Award.
