Biography

Loren Stillman, born on June 14, 1980 in London, England, is a jazz saxophonist and composer. Raised in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, he received scholarships to attend the Manhattan School of Music in 1998 and the New School University in 2002. Stillman's early career was marked by significant awards, including two Outstanding Performance Awards from DownBeat Magazine in 1996 and 1998, and the Rising Star Jazz Artist Award in 2004. He also received the CMA/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming and the ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award in 2005. Stillman's discography includes notable albums such as Blind Date (2007) and Winter Fruits (2009). He has collaborated with prominent artists including Charlie Haden, Carla Bley, Paul Motian, John Abercrombie, and Joe Lovano. His work has been critically acclaimed by publications like The New York Times, DownBeat Magazine, and JazzTimes.
