Biography
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known as Wizkid, was born on July 16, 1990, in Ojuelegba, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. He began recording music at age 11 and released his first collaborative album with the Glorious Five. Wizkid signed with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009 and gained prominence with "Holla at Your Boy," the lead single from his debut studio album Superstar (2011). His second studio album, Ayo, was released in September 2014. Wizkid achieved international recognition following his collaboration with Drake on "One Dance" (2016), which topped charts worldwide and made him the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the Guinness World Records. He signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records in March 2017 and released Sounds from the Other Side later that year. His fourth album, Made in Lagos, was released in October 2020 and reached Number 1 on the Billboard World Album Chart.
