Real name Michael Babatunde Adeyinka, born May 10, 1989, DJ Tunez is a Nigerian-American DJ, producer and artist renowned for his contributions to Afrobeats, house, hip-hop, R&B and dancehall. Born and raised in South Brooklyn, New York, he was deeply influenced by his father's collection of Afro and Caribbean music. He learned to play drums at the age of 11 and began mixing while playing in his church band, later hosting family and local events. In 2014, he won the title of World's Best DJ at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards and the following year signed with Starboy Entertainment, Wizkid's label, becoming their official touring DJ. He made his producer debut in 2016 with "Iskaba" for Wande Coal, a acclaimed track that led to collaborations with Sarz, Burna Boy, Busiswa, Reekado Banks, Omah Lay and many other representatives of afrobeats. His hits include "Turn Up" in 2018 with Wizkid and Reekado Banks, "PAMI" in 2020 with Wizkid, Adekunle Gold and Omah Lay, and "Energy" in 2021 with Ashanti and Adekunle Gold. In 2025, he collaborates with his loyal partner Wizkid and Fola on "One Condition".
