Liza da Costa is a Portuguese-Indian singer and composer. Raised in Rüsselsheim, Germany, she began singing at the age of 12. Her breakthrough came as a member of the Eurodance group Captain Jack, with whom she performed from 1995 to 1998 and appeared on two albums. In 2000, she released her solo single âBanana Cocoâ through Virgin Records. She also worked as a vocalist and composer on various projects, including âFight to Winâ for the 2000/2001 Four Hills Tournament and âOcean of Eternityâ for Future Breeze. In 2005, she co-founded Hotel Bossa Nova, a group focused on a blend of bossa nova and jazz (Brazilian jazz), with whom she has released several albums. Da Costa has also appeared on a range of German television music and entertainment programs and participated in televised gala performances and collaborations.
