In March 1964, she released the single "Midnight Johnny" featuring backing vocals from The Temptations. After Martin Luther King Jr. died in 1968, Motown released its version of "We Shall Overcome", paired with King’s speech "I Have a Dream". She passed away on January 11, 2013, in Atlanta.
