Elizabeth Jurist, known as Libby Titus, was born in Woodstock, New York, on July 6, 1947. After brief studies at Bard College, she entered the folk-rock scene, releasing Libby Titus in 1968 on Hot Biscuit. A second self-titled album appeared in 1977 on Columbia, featuring the co-written hit "Love Has No Pride" with Eric Kaz, which reached the Australian top 5 via Daryl Braithwaite. She collaborated with Phil Ramone, Robbie Robertson, Paul Simon, Carly Simon, and provided backing vocals for Martin Mullâs 1972 debut. In 1989 she produced the New York Rock and Soul Revue with Donald Fagen and "Florida Room" for his 1993 album Kamakiriad. An anthology was released by Pony Canyon in 1996. She died on October 13 2024 at age 77.
