Charles Milles Maddox, better known as Charles Manson, was born on November 12, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He began his music career on the fringe of the Los Angeles music industry in the late 1960s. His first notable association came through Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys, who introduced him to record producer Terry Melcher. In 1968, the Beach Boys recorded Manson's song "Cease to Exist", renamed "Never Learn Not to Love" as a single B-side, though Manson was uncredited. He attempted to secure a record contract through Melcher but was unsuccessful. Manson released his first album Lie: The Love and Terror Cult in 1970. Throughout the years, he continued to release albums such as Poor Old Prisoner Boy (1989), The Son of Man (1989), and Live at San Quentin (1993). Manson died on November 19, 2017.
