Biography

C-pop vocalist Li Daimo was born in Qiqihar, China, on May 9, 1988. A student at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music, he learned to sing at a young age and launched his music career in 2012, while competing in The Voice of China's first season. Known at the time as Demon Lee, he remained with the show for seven episodes, earning praise from the judging panel for his performances of Qu Wanting's "You Exist In My Song" and Karen Mok's "如果没有你." My Voice, his solo debut, was released in 2012, shortly after his departure from The Voice of China. Another studio album, Sensitive, followed in 2013. Although a popular artist on the Chinese charts, Daimo began attracting an equal amount of attention for his personal life, including his sexuality and his March 2014 arrest for drug possession. He served a seven-month prison sentence and resumed his solo career after his release, recording a mix of ballads, bilingual pop, and Chinese rock songs for albums like 2016's Thank You and 2017's Come, I'm Here.
