Biography

Les Têtes Brûlées, a Cameroonian band formed in 1985, gained prominence through their blend of traditional bikutsi rhythms with modern electric sounds. Their breakthrough came in 1986 after their first television appearance on Cameroonian TV. Led by Jean-Marie Ahanda and guitarist Zanzibar, known for his innovative guitar technique, Les Têtes Brûlées released their debut album Hot Heads in 1986. The group continued with new members after Zanzibar's death in 1988, releasing subsequent albums such as Bikutsi Rock (1989) and Be Happy (1993). They toured extensively across Africa, Europe, the United States, and Japan. Notably, they accompanied the Cameroonian national football team during a World Cup match against Italy in 1990.
