Biography
Raised in an artistic family, Russian pop singer Leonid Agutin (born in Moscow, 1968) followed in his parentsâ footsteps. With a professional music education of piano classes under his belt, Agutin started to perform as a supporting artist for various Soviet groups in 1989. Agutinâs debut album «ÐоÑоногий малÑÑик» (âBarefoot Boyâ, 1994) brought him fame immediately. He was named Singer of the Year, and also won Song of the Year (song «Хоп-Ñ
ей-лала-лей» (âHop Hey Lala Leyâ)) and Album of the Year titles in 1994. His following albums «ÐекамеÑон» (âDecameronâ, 1995) and «ÐеÑний дождÑ» (âSummer Rainâ, 1998) were no less popular. He was one of the brightest pop stars of â90s and â00s. The songs «ФевÑалÑ» (âFebruaryâ, 1998), «Ðе ÑнÑвай» (âDonât Be Sadâ, 1998), duet with his wife Anzhelika Varum «ÐÑÑ Ð² ÑвоиÑ

» (âAll In Your Handsâ, 1999), «ÐÑаниÑа» (âBorderâ, 2003), a joint work with Otpetye Moshenniki are one of the biggest hits of this period. In 2008, Agutinâs jazz album âCosmopolitan Lifeâ featuring Al di Meola gained worldwide recognition. In 2020, he became a winner of USA Songwriting Competition with the song âJust a Rainy Dayâ from his album âLa Vida Cosmopolita!â. Agutin is one of the owners of the largest number of Golden Gramophone and Song of the Year music awards in Russian show business.
