Lemon Ice is a German musical duo consisting of singer Geeno, born Gunther Göbbel on May 6, 1979 in Nuremberg, and rapper Jay Low. Geeno initially gained recognition as a finalist in the second season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS) in 2003/2004, where he reached the top five after being brought back as a wildcard. Following his appearance on DSDS, Göbbel released "Caramba!", a Latin-themed single with Sedat Türüc under the duo name Meant 2 Be. After establishing Utopic Music, Geeno teamed up with Jay Low to form Lemon Ice. Lemon Ice's debut single was a cover of Ben E. King's "Stand By Me", released in 2006 on Icezone Music and produced by David Brandes. The song became a hit in Germany and Austria, featuring Giuliana Marino, the German Playmate of the Year 2005, in its music video. Subsequent singles included covers of Yazoo's "Only You" and Milli Vanilli's "Girl You Know It's True", both achieving chart success in multiple countries. In 2007, Lemon Ice released their debut album One, which featured four singles including a cover of Richard Marxâs ballad "Right Here Waiting". Their final release was "Hey Lady" featuring Raheema before the duo separated.
