Biography

Frederick G. Koller, known professionally as Fred Koller, was born on March 5, 1950, in Chicago and is an American singer-songwriter. He began his music career in 1973 and has since written over 300 songs that have been recorded. Koller's breakthrough came with collaborations, notably with Shel Silverstein, resulting in hits like "Jennifer Johnson and Me" and "This Guitar Is for Sale". His notable albums include Songs From the Night Before (1989), Where The Fast Lane Ends (1990), and No Song Left to Sell (2001). Koller has received multiple BMI Awards, including the Millionaire Performance Award for "Angel Eyes" and "She Came from Fort Worth". He served as Vice President of The Nashville Songwriters Association International and has taught at various institutions. Beyond music, Koller opened bookstores in California and Nashville and authored How to Pitch and Promote Your Songs.
