Biography

Lillie Amadea West is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the American indie rock band Lala Lala, based in Chicago. West began playing guitar at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and self‑releasing the EP Lala Lala in 2014 and Have a Good Day in 2015. Her debut album Sleepyhead (2016) was followed by The Lamb (2018) on Hardly Art, earning a “Band to Watch” mention from Stereogum. In 2019 West released the single "Siren 042" featuring Yoni Wolf and toured with Better Oblivion Community Center and Death Cab for Cutie. The third album I Want the Door to Open (2021) was received positively by Pitchfork. In 2024 she issued the instrumental album if i were a real man i would be able to break the neck of a suffering bird, and in 2026 signed with Sub Pop for Heaven 2.
