Biography
Kwon Tree, a Korean folk song singer, began learning music in college when he joined a heavy metal band. In 2014, he gained attention after being selected as Hello Rookie of the Month on the show EBS Space GongGam. He won the Best Folk Song Award at the Korean Music Awards in 2015 and 2016. For the latter, he even personally awarded himself the prize during the ceremony as he was the winner the previous year. As a graduate of Jinju Education University, he worked as an elementary school teacher in Chungcheongnam-do. On weekends, he travelled to Seoul to perform. In March 2019, he was transferred to an elementary school in Cheonan. His 2019 album, New Day, entered the charts in May 2025, 6 years after its release.
