Kurt Azesberger, an Austrian singer and opera singer, was born on April 8, 1960 in Arnreit. He received his initial music education as a choirboy at St. Florian Abbey and attended the Linz Music Gymnasium. Azesberger studied voice under Hilde Rössel-Majdan and Kurt Equiluz. Throughout his career, Azesberger was known for his interpretations of church music by Bach and roles in operas by Mozart and Strauss. He collaborated with notable conductors such as Franz Welser-Möst, Claudio Abbado, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, and Kent Nagano. His performances took him to various international stages, including Florence, Venice (Elektra), Milan (Der Rosenkavalier), Rome, Munich (Das schlaue Füchslein), and China. He released the album Schlee : Ich, Hiob in 2010. Azesberger passed away on August 10, 2020, in Treviso.
