Kristoffer Lawrence Cadevida, known professionally as Kris Lawrence, was born on September 1, 1982, in Los Angeles, California. He is a Filipino-American singer-songwriter who began his career in the late 1990s as part of the group First Impression with Jay-R. In 2006, Lawrence won Search for the Star in a Million Season 3 and released his self-titled debut EP Kris Lawrence. His second album, Moments of Love, was released in 2009 and featured covers such as "Careless Whisper" by George Michael and "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx. In 2010, he signed an exclusive contract with GMA Network and appeared on the variety show Party Pilipinas. He later joined GMA Records in 2012. His subsequent albums include Spread the Love (2013) and Most Requested Playlist (2015), both released under Universal Records. Lawrence also contributed to the theme music for J Castles, including the songs "Let There Be Lights" and "Sky Full of Colors".
