Biography

Konrad Hünteler, born on March 12, 1947, in Germany, was a flautist known for his expertise in Baroque and Classical music. He studied flute with Hans-Jürgen Möhring, Günther Höller, Aurèle Nicolet, and Hans-Martin Linde, who introduced him to historically informed performance practices. Hünteler's career began with performances alongside notable ensembles such as the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and the London Classical Players. His discography includes Bach: The 8 Flute Sonatas (1983) and Telemann: 12 Fantasien Für Traversflöte (1993). He collaborated with musicians like Bob van Asperen, Anner Bylsma, and Jacques Ogg. Hünteler was a professor of flute at the Musikhochschule Münster from 1979 to 2012 and received the title of honorary member of the German Flute Society in 2001. He passed away on November 13, 2020.
