Biography
Kirin (기린), born Lee Dae-hee on August 22, 1985, in Daejeon, is a South Korean rapper known for his retro-inspired style and alter ego, Tuff Daehee. Debuting in 2009 under Music Found with the album Space Anthem, Kirin quickly became recognized for blending old-school funk, New Jack Swing, and Korean pop sensibilities. Over the years, he has released a rich discography including studio albums like Love & Happiness (2014) and The Town (2020), as well as notable collaborations such as Baddest Nice Guys with Jay Park (2019) and The Funk Luv with Zen-La-Rock (2015). His energetic yet nostalgic sound has been further showcased through singles like âNew Jack Swing,â(2012) âMargarita,â(2020) and âDown Bad.â(2024) Even into 2025, with releases like âSo So Mad,â Kirin continues to evolve musically while preserving his signature retro flair.
