Biography

Kikí Dimoulá, born on June 19, 1931 in Athens, Greece, was a prominent Greek poet and narrator. She worked as an employee at the Bank of Greece before gaining recognition for her poetic works. In 2002, she was elected as a member of the Academy of Athens. Dimoulá's poetry often explored themes such as absence, loss, and solitude, characterized by the personification of abstract concepts and unconventional use of language. Her notable works include Το λίγο του κόσμου [The Little of the World] (1971), for which she won the second National Poetry Prize in 1972, and Χαίρε ποτέ [Goodbye Never] (1988), which earned her the National Poetry Prize in 1989. Dimoulá's poetry has been translated into multiple languages, including English, French, and Spanish. She passed away on February 22, 2020.
