Katerina Gogou, born ÎαÏεÏίνα ÎÏγοÏ
on June 1, 1940, in Greece, was a poet and actress. She began acting at age five and made her professional debut in 1961 with Dinos Iliopoulos' theater company in the play Î ÎÏÏÎ¹Î¿Ï ÏÎνÏε ÏÎ¿Î¹Ï ÎµÎºÎ±ÏÏ (Mr. Five Percent). Her first film role was in Î Î¬Î»Î»Î¿Ï (The Other One/The Other Person). Gogou gained recognition for her roles in films like Το ξÏλο βγήκε αÏÏ Ïον ÏαÏάδειÏο (The Wood Came out of Paradise) and won the best actress award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival for Το βαÏÏ ÏεÏÏνι (The Heavy Melon). As a poet, she was known for her revolutionary writing. Her notable works include "Î¥ÏεÏαÏÏίζομαι Ïην ÎναÏÏία" (I Support/Defend Anarchy) and ΤÏία κλικ αÏιÏÏεÏά (Three Clicks Left), translated into English in 1983. Gogou passed away on October 3, 1993.
