Kerretta is a New Zealand experimental rock band from Auckland that formed in 2005. The ensemble consists of the bassist William Waters, the drummer H. Walker, and the guitarist David Holmes. They achieved early professional momentum with the 7-inch single âDeath in the Future/Wisnierskaâ (2007) and are famous for an instrumental musical style frequently compared to groups such as Mogwai and Russian Circles. Their debut studio album, Vilayer (2009), was nominated for the Taite Music Prize in 2010. The groupâs discography includes the studio recordings Saansilo (2011) and Pirohia (2014), alongside the compilation of outtakes and unreleased tracks Exiscens (2018). Their later work includes the studio recording Angelm (2024).
