Born in Istanbul, Turkey on November 2, 1994, Kerimcan Durmaz is a singer and social media superstar. After graduating from high school and pursuing a career as a make-up artist in Baku, Azerbaijan, he became a success on several social media platforms in 2015. Moving back to Istanbul the following year he added DJ to his resume. His popularity began to flourish, and he became a judge on the seventh season of televised Turkish talent competition Ä°Åte Benim Stilim while also filming his first movie. However, his homosexuality caused controversy in his home country and in late 2016, he was attacked and injured in what was acknowledged as a hate crime. He stirred up controversy himself during the COVID-19 pandemic when he seemingly encouraged hostility towards the elderly in a social media post. Still a social media sensation. He turned to music and released his debut single, "PeÅimde," in 2021. The song was a hit and the music video received more than 14 million views in its first two weeks. He followed that single with more successful tracks including "Vida Loca" (2021), "K M N ?" (2022), and "Bedel" (2023). Continuing his run of singles Kerimcan Durmaz returned in 2024 with âNerdisinâ and âSalla.â
