Yuna Shishido, born 23â¯Juneâ¯1985 in Mexico, is a Japanese singer and drummer who performs under the stage name Kavka Shishido. After early exposure to drumming while living in Argentina, she joined the allâfemale band The News as their third drummer in 2004, later forming the group Eddy12 with collaborators from The HighâLows and Uverworld. In 2012, she debuted as a solo artist with the digital single "Day Dream Rider" under Imperial Records, followed by the physical singles "Wagamama" / "Miss. Miss Me" in 2014. Her debut studio album Kavkanize was released 4â¯Septemberâ¯2013, and she embarked on her first Japanese tour the same year. In 2015, after signing with the newly created Justa Music, she issued the EP K5 (Kã®ç´¯ä¹), featuring the single "Donât Be Love" with Kazuyoshi Saito, which served as the theme for the Fuji TV drama Ishaâtachi no Ren'ai JijÅ. Subsequent albums ããªã㪠(27â¯Aprilâ¯2016) and DOUBLEâ¯TONE (25â¯Julyâ¯2018) expanded her catalog, while the EP DO_S (22â¯Februaryâ¯2017) added further depth. Throughout her career, Kavka Shishido has maintained a dual role as drummer and vocalist, toured extensively, and collaborated with prominent musicians, solidifying her presence in the Japanese popârock scene.
