Karamelo Santo, an Argentinian rock fusion band from Mendoza, was formed in 1992 by Goy Karamelo. The group's initial lineup included Fabiana Droghei and Mario Yarke, debuting successfully at La Torre pub on December 20, 1992. Their first album, La Kulebra, recorded independently in 1995, showcased a unique blend of rock fusion with elements of pasodoble, bolero, cumbia, punk rock, ska, and murga. The band gained recognition from notable figures like David Byrne and Gustavo Santaolalla. In 1997, they moved to Buenos Aires and released Perfectos idiotas, produced by Todos Tus Muertos. Their single "Vas a volver" topped several radio charts in Argentina and Latin America. Throughout the 2000s, Karamelo Santo toured extensively across South America, Europe, and North America and released albums such as Los Guachos (2002) and Haciendo Bulla (2004). In 2008, Goy Karamelo was named an ambassador of Mendoza's culture.
