Biography

Juliette Hurel, a French flautist born on May 14, 1970 in Auxerre, earned first prizes in flute and chamber music at the Paris Conservatory. She won several international competitions, including those in Darmstadt, Kobe, Bucharest, and the Jean-Pierre-Rampal competition. In 2004, she was nominated for "Revelation of the Year" at the Victoires de la musique classique awards. Hurel has collaborated with notable musicians such as Gary Hoffman, Youri Bashmet, Shlomo Mintz, and Marielle Nordmann. She performed with orchestras including the Auvergne Orchestra and the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra, and served as principal flutist at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra from 1998 under conductors Valery Gergiev and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Her discography includes albums such as Haydn: Sonates Pour Flûte & Piano and Memories of Hungary.
