Biography
Julie and the Phantoms is a fictional band from the TV musical dramedy of the same name, premiered in July 2020 and based on Brazilian series Julie e os Fantasmas. Directed and produced by Kenny Ortega (of High School Musical fame), the show revolves around the trials and tribulations of teenage singer Molina (Madison Reyes), who accidentally summons the spirits of a literally deceased 90s rock group after going through her late motherâs CD collection. Completed by Luke (Charlie Gillespie), Alex, (Owen Patrick Joyner), and Reggie (Jeremy Shada), the band was featured on the seriesâ original soundtrack, Julie and the Phantoms: Music from the Netflix Original Series, released in 2020. The album, which listed top-tier film and TV composers such as Alana Da Fonseca (âPerfect Harmonyâ), and Doug Rockwell & Tova Litvin (âNow or Neverâ) in its credits, managed to get into the Billboard 200 at Number 163 and peaked at Number 4 on Billboardâs US Soundtrack Albums chart.
