Jukka Tapio Linkola, born on July 21, 1955, in Espoo, Finland, is a composer, pianist, and conductor. He studied piano and composition at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki from 1972 to 1980. Linkola gained prominence in the 1970s as both a jazz pianist and composer, leading various big bands including the UMO Jazz Orchestra and EBU Big Band. His career began as a Korrepetitor at the Stadttheater Helsinki in 1975, where he later served as Kapellmeister from 1979 to 1992. Linkola's notable works include the operas Ronja Räubertochter (1989) and Robin Hood (2011), as well as musicals like Peter Pan (1985). He has also composed music for films, notably The Snow Queen, earning a Jussi Award in 1987. In 1992, Linkola worked as a freelance composer and musician in Helsinki.
