Jon Weymouth Weaving, born on February 23, 1931, in Kew, Melbourne, Australia, was an Australian opera singer who performed as a bass-baritone and later as a tenor. He studied singing with Jessye Schmidt and Browning Mummery before moving to London for further training. Weaving was engaged by the Sadler's Wells Opera, making a debut as Danilo in The Merry Widow opposite June Bronhill at the London Coliseum. His career included performances at the Bavarian State Opera and the English National Opera Company, as well as notable roles such as Siegfried and Siegmund in Wagner's operas. Weaving returned to Australia for concerts and recordings, including an album of Malcolm Williamson's The Violins of Saint-Jacques. He died of pancreatic cancer on October 19, 2011, in Sweden.
