Biography

Johnny Vicious, born John Coles in 1989 in New York City, began his career as a club DJ in Newâ¯Yorkâ¯City during the 1980s, performing at venues such as Mars and Palladium. He later founded Viciousâ¯Muzik Records with Jeffrey Rodman in the early 1990s. His first commercial releases emerged in the midâ1990s, including the EP Liquid Bass EP: Volumeâ¯1 (1993) and the compilation Grind: All Night House Music Party (1994), establishing his presence in the house music scene. In 1995 he released the album The Beginning, followed by Newâ¯York in the Mix (1996) and the mix Ministry of Sound: Club Nation America (2001). The 2005 single "Can't Let Go" featuring Judy Albanese reached Numberâ¯four on the U.S. Billboard Dance Chart, marking his most significant chart success. His remix work appeared on prominent compilations such as Ultra.Danceâ¯01 (2002) and ThriveMix Presents: Trance Anthems, Vol.â¯1* (2007). Throughout his career, Vicious contributed remixes for highâprofile artists including Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, and BeyoncÃ©, solidifying his role as a prolific American DJ and producer in electronic and house music.
