Biography
John Verity, born on July 3, 1949, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, is an English guitarist, singer, and record producer. He began his career as a member of Argent, joining the band in 1974 alongside John Grimaldi to replace Russ Ballard. After Argent disbanded, he formed Phoenix with Bob Henrit and Jim Rodford, recording three albums with CBS Records before disbanding. In the early 1980s, he worked with Brian Connolly on his solo project, producing the single "Hypnotized" in 1982. He released several solo albums including Truth of the Matter (1985) and Passion (2020). Notable singles included "Stay With Me" (1983), "Rescue Me" (1984), "Honesty and Emotion" (1985), and "Two Hearts Burning" (1987). He also performed with the John Verity Band, occasionally collaborating with other musicians for acoustic gigs.
