Joeâ¯Russoâs Almostâ¯Dead is a jamâband formed in 2013 in Brooklyn, Newâ¯York, by drummer Joeâ¯Russo, bassist Daveâ¯Dreiwitz, keyboardist Marcoâ¯Benevento, guitaristâvocalist Scottâ¯Metzger and guitaristâvocalist Tomâ¯Hamilton. The group debuted on January 26, 2013, at the Brooklyn Bowl, where they first covered Grateful Dead songs and quickly added touring commitments. Over the next decade they released a series of live albums, including Portâ¯Chester,â¯NY (2013), Denver,â¯CO (2014), Newâ¯Orleans,â¯LA (2015), Oakland,â¯CA (2015), and Portâ¯Chester,â¯NY (2019). They shared stages with Philâ¯Lesh, Johnâ¯Mayer, and Branfordâ¯Marsalis, and performed shows at Redâ¯Rocks, 1stBank Center and Capitol Theatre. The band remained active in 2024, concluding year with a series at Westville Music Bowl and a tour featuring covers of "Shattered" and "Gloria".
