Biography

Jermain Jackman, born 10 January 1995 in Hackney, London, is a British contemporary R&B and soul singer who attended the Islington Arts and Media School and later studied politics at the University of Leeds. His music career began with the release of the free EP Jermain Jackman Sessions in December 2014, following his cover of "And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going", which was released in January 2014 and reached number 39 on the UK iTunes chart and number 75 on the UK Singles Chart. Jermain Jackman gained national recognition after winning the third series of The Voice UK in April 2014, becoming the first male winner of the programme and earning a £100,000 recording contract with London Records, a Universal Music imprint. He released his self-titled debut album Jermain Jackman on 23 March 2015, which included the single "How Will I Know", recorded during a period of personal bereavement. The album was issued digitally and on CD and was promoted through live performances and television appearances, including The Dog Ate My Homework in 2015. In later years, Jermain Jackman remained active in media and entertainment, including a televised appearance on Pointless Celebrities in 2017 alongside George Sampson
