Biography

Jeremy Thomas Hewitt, known professionally as Jeremy Loops, is a South African singer-songwriter and record producer born in South Africa in 1984. Loops picked up the guitar while studying finance and property development and later worked on a superyacht, where they adopted a loop pedal to substitute for a band. Their debut recording, the self-titled EP Jeremy Loops (2011), was followed by the debut album Trading Change (2014), which reached Number 1 on iTunes South Africa. The album featured the single “Down South” (2014), which reached Number 1 on several South African radio stations. Loops received the Best Live Act award at the 2014 MK Awards and performed on tours with Rebelution and Twenty One Pilots. Subsequent recordings include Critical as Water (2018), addressing the water shortage in Cape Town, and Heard You Got Love (2022). Their discography includes the single “Better Together” (2022) with Ed Sheeran and the album Feathers and Stone (2025). Loops co-founded the tree-planting organization Greenpop in 2010.
