Biography

Jay Gruska, born April 23, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York, is a songwriter and composer known for his work in film and television scoring. He began his career as a singer/songwriter and was briefly a member of Three Dog Night in 1976. Jay Gruska co-wrote hit songs such as "Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin' (Too Good to Be True)" (1984) for Jermaine Jackson and Michael Jackson, and Amy Grant's "Good for Me" (1992). He composed musical scores for TV dramas including Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Charmed, and Supernatural. Jay Gruska has also received three Emmy Award nominations, one Genie Award nomination, and over 10 ASCAP awards. In November 2014, the 200th episode of Supernatural featured two songs co-written by Jay Gruska and Robbie Thompson, notably "The Road So Far" which reached number 3 on the soundtrack chart within 24 hours after airing.
