Son of French writer Jean Echenoz, Jérôme Echenoz turned to music in 1995, when he joined the French rap group ATK under the name DJ Tacteel. Now known as Tacteel, he left the collective in 2000 to go solo with the release of the instrumental EP Butter for the Fat, then joined a new hip-hop collective, L'Atelier, as well as TTC, Super Famille Conne and Fuckaloop, with Para One. Co-founder of the Institubes label, he writes, composes and produces artists such as Alizée, Loane, Lafayette, Teki Latex and Yelle. As a solo artist, he released the Cheap Fun EP (2005), the 6-track La Saint-Ãtienne (2006) and the album Je Ne Vous Oublierai Pas (2007). Under his real name, he sings Le Chrome et le Coton, remixed in 2015 in a duet with Anna Jean (Juniore), before recording a new album.
